Pay-Per-Click (PPC) Campaigns

Sometimes you don't have the time or ability to optimize your website for your target keywords. This can happen with extremely competitive keywords, or if your site doesn't or can't have much text content. Or maybe you have good search engine rankings already but want even more traffic.

Pay-per-click (PPC) ads appear in search engines as sponsored listings when people search for the keywords you've set up your PPC acount for. The two main PPC providers are Google.com's AdWords and Yahoo.com's Overture. With PPC, you tell the search engines how much you'd be willing to pay for each visitor to your website, from 5 cents on up to $50! Obviously, this is a great way to throw away money if not done correctly.

In short, you need to choose the right keywords. Then create a lot of small text ads (one ad per keyphrase) each with a headline that includes your keywords, and copy that presents a compelling offer or reason to click on your ad. Then on your website's "landing page" (one landing page per keyphrase) you need to make sure you have a headline that includes the keyphrase. Also be sure that your website is useable.
